The Bread Oven owes its name to the stone bread oven that stood there when the building was used as a farmhouse. The spirit of the old walls has been preserved during the renovation. Today, it is a two-bedroom gîte for four people—ideal for a family with two children or two couples.
Inside, you'll find a welcoming living room with satellite TV, a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, oven, stovetop, microwave, washing machine, and complete set of crockery and cutlery), two bedrooms, and a bathroom. The first bedroom has a double bed (140 cm), and the second has two single beds (90 cm). Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
Outside, your private garden with garden furniture and barbecue — very convenient for outdoor meals on summer evenings.
Le Four à Pain is part of the Domaine de Rochebonne, our former family estate now a holiday resort. No more than 9 families stay at a time in a walled, car-free park of 13,000 m². Amenities include a shared heated swimming pool open 24/7 from May 1st to October 1st, a wooden fort, a sandbox, swings, badminton, a football pitch, and a pétanque court for children. Pets are welcome (supplement of €15 per stay).
Practical information: bakery 800m away, butcher 1.4km away, restaurants in the village a 5-minute walk. Beaches 10 minutes by car, bridge to Île d'Oléron 8km away, Royan 24km away, La Rochelle 55km away. We will personally welcome you upon arrival and remain available throughout your stay.

To explore the region we do recommend having a car as the public transport in the immediate area in not very frequent. There is public transport by bus from St Just-Luzac which can take you to nearby towns including Rochefort, Royan, Saintes, Marennes and La Rochelle. In Rochefort, Royan, Saintes and La Rochelle there are mainline train stations where you can catch the local trains and the TGV. The closest international airports are La Rochelle which is 45 Minutes away and Bordeaux which is 1 hour away. The closest motorway exit is in Saintes which is 35 minutes away

Très bel endroit
Très bel endroit qui a du charme. Un parc magnifique avec une belle piscine. Le gîte est bien équipé et décoré avec goût. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille. Je recommande vivement.

June 2019 Gite 6 · two bedroom cottage with garden and pool Nous somme très satisfaits de cet hébergement idéalement situé près de Marennes, à 15 minutes de l'Ile d'Oléron, 20 minutes de Rochefort et 30 minutes de la Rochelle, c'est parfait pour visiter cette belle région à un prix très abordable. Les charentais sont très accueillants ce qui est très sympathique lorsque l'on ne connaît pas le coin. La piscine à notre disposition est très agréable aussi lorsqu'il fait chaud comme le jour de notre arrivée. Le logement est spacieux, propre. La terrasse privative est très pratique pour profiter du plein air et du barbecue. Malgré la proximité de la route de Saintes, le lieu est très reposant surtout en soirée et la nuit car la circulation est alors quasi inexistante.
